Wanted: Webmaster for ChristianDeism.com

Postby cclendenen » Wed Mar 24, 2010 5:15 am

I would love for someone to take an active role in the maintainence and development of the ChristianDeism.com Website. It needs someone who has the time to actually do something with it. I volunteered to preserve the domain name when the original owner could not longer maintain it. I would love for someone to step up and make it a place of interest for all Christian Deists.

I will happily continue to host it. There will be no cost involved. The former owner has right of first refusal. PM me or post here if interested.

Hi Chuck. What is it that a person will actually do with the Christian Deism Web? What is the maintenance that's involved. How much time per week is needed to do this job? How much does one have to know about computers? Do you still stay involved until the new person has the knowledge to run the web on their own?

How much you do is entirely up to you. If necessary, I will take care of all maintenance. Someone just needs to provide some content. How much time is entirely up to you. You don't have to know anymore about computers than sending an email. I will stay involved as long as needed. You can run it on your own or with my help. John Lindell is 80 years old. He types out his essays on a word processor that looks like a plain old typewriter to me. His grandson puts his materials on his Website. I am OK with that, but I would be happy with more technically savvy too. :D

Well, this is surely a work for an english native spaeaker, but I'd love to help if we could start a section in spanish or portuguese. If I am not wrong, there were one or two other members who are fluent in spanish like i am, so we could start something... concerning a section in portuguese, i could translate some essentials from english to portuguese (short translations by now, as I don't have ena lot of free time actually, but will have after August) and, of course, try to help to moderate these sections.
We must bring deism outside english-speaking countries too. specilaay to sapnish-speking people, as their language is getting stronger each day... apart from the fact that is a language spoken in several countries with a nice philosophic tradition, like Spain, Mexico, Argentina...
Just a PS: You know i am not a christian deist, but of course i am enough open-minded and tolerant to help.
Life: Really, really cool.

I have found someone who will put some good content at the site. I will start the transfer in a few days unless there are objections.

Actually, it is someone introduced to me by John Lindell. I have seen his site. It is much better than what I put there.

The original owner still has right of first refusal. I have emailed him.

I just took a quick look at it. I haven't read any of the 'Archive' material, but it looks like an interesting variety of viewpoints is given. I thought the definition of Christian Deism was good; and the new section of 'Jesus' gave a fair presentation. It looks to me like the website is in good hands.

I haven't been able to open it on two different servers (DSL). It seems to take a long time to load on any server, and may have things that are often blocked. Does that make it "friendly"?
